Bowe single helps Blaze end losing skid

Theo Bowe singled home Kurtis Muller for the go-ahead run as the Bakersfield Blaze defeated the Lake Elsinore Storm 6-5 on Monday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Pat Doyle, who allowed five runs over six innings for the Blaze, earned the victory. He allowed nine hits, struck out three and walked none. Blaine Howell, Daniel Wolford and Brooks Pinckard each pitched one scoreless inning of relief for the Blaze, with Pinckard getting his second save of the season. The Blaze ended a seven-game losing streak.
Steve Selsky gave Bakersfield a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning with a two-run home run to center field.
Lake Elsinore tied the game in the top of the sixth on an Eddy Rodriguez home run.
