The Bakersfield Blaze managed just just four hits Sunday, falling to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 4-1 at LoanMart Field.
The Quakes wasted no time breaking out to an early 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the first inning, with one out, Rancho strung together four consecutive singles, the latter two leading to runs.
With two outs, Chris O'Brien brought in another run on the fifth single of the inning.
The Blaze did not collect a hit until the fourth inning off Gustavo Gomez (3-5), who set down the first ten Blaze in a row before allowing a bloop single to Juan Silva.
David Vidal stayed hot for the Blaze, as the infielder had already put together three multi-hit games on the road trip, and he opened the 5th inning with a double.
Juan Duran singled him home, and the Blaze got on the board, and trailed 4-1.
