Clovis North and Frontier played even for the first half, then it turned around.

The visiting Broncos stymied Frontier in the second half and pulled away late for a 40-19 non-league win.

Frontier (2-2) had only five second-half first downs after trailing 20-19 at halftime.

The Titans took a 19-14 lead on Jasmit Thind's second TD catch of the second quarter, an over-the-shoulder catch from 9 yards out with 37 seconds left in the half.

But Clovis North (3-1) wasn't satisfied to go into halftime trailing. The Broncos drove 80 yards on five pass plays, capped by a 28-yard touchdown from quarterback Austin Autry to Tyman Locklin with four seconds left before halftime.

After that, it was all Clovis North.

"They made the big plays on fourth down and on third down," said Frontier coach Rich Cornford. "We didn't step up and get off the field."

Clovis North had a 79-yard TD run by Bolu Olorunfunmi with 1:53 left in the first half to take a 14-13 lead.

Troy Banks had a 15-yard touchdown run by Frontier to open the scoring.

Clovis North had two touchdowns each by Robert McIlhatton (TD pass receptions of 20 and 37 yards) and Olorunfunmi (a 45-yard TD in the fourth quarter concluded the scoring).

Frontier had only 68 net yards (all on the ground) in the second half.

Autry was 11-for-20 passing for 209 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.

Frontier's two-way standout Nick Santoro, a running back and outside linebacker, suffered an apparent left knee injury early in the fourth quarter and was carried from the field.
