Bakersfield boxer Michael Dallas Jr.’s fight scheduled for tonight in Anaheim has been called off, according to “The Queensberry Rules,” an online boxing blog.
Joseph Elegele, Dallas’ scheduled opponent, pulled out of the fight last week, according to the blog. Dallas said he pulled out with an injured hand. The fight was scheduled to be televised on Fox Deportes.
The bout would have been the first for Dallas since the death of his father, Michael Dallas Sr. Dallas Sr., a longtime boxing coach for the Bakersfield Police Activities League, died last month after a seven-month battle with leukemia. He was 45.
Dallas Jr. said he is targeting January for his next bout.
