LANCASTER -- The Bakersfield Blaze had five straight hits to open the second inning to account for all its runs in a 4-2 victory Thursday in the opener of a four-game series with the Lancaster JetHawks at the Hangar.
Juan Duran opened the inning with a triple and scored on a single by Dominic D'Anna. Yorman Rodriguez, Joe Terry and Yovan Gonzalez followed with singles. Juan Perez capped the scoring one out later with an RBI single.
Perez finished 3-for-5, while Rodriguez, Gonzalez and Kyle Waldrop added two hits apiece for Bakersfield (4-11), which won its second straight.
Right-hander Jake Johnson (1-0) picked up the win in his first start of the season for the Blaze, allowing two runs on five hits in five innings, striking out four.
Carlos Gonzalez and Brooks Pinckard combined for three scoreless innings, with Kyle McMyne recording his first save of the season.
The Blaze plays the JetHawks tonight a 7 p.m.
