We had a fun afternoon, interviewing four of Kern County's athletes who will be contending for state championships and state medals at the CIF State Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday. Festivities in Clovis begin at 3 p.m. tomorrow, and we'll have full coverage here at School House Zach and on bakersfield.com.

If you missed the show live, we've hacked it up into four segments for you. An interview with Liberty's super sophomore, Morganne Hill, comes first. We had some audio difficulties at the beginning of this one, so it's short but still worth a listen.

Up next was Bakersfield junior Scotty Newton, the soft-spoken but long-jumping Driller:

Then it was time for Ridgeview senior Ivan Gonzalez, who has the best mark of any runner in the 800-meter field.

To end the show, we brought on Kern County's brightest track star of all, Blake Haney, the Stockdale junior who owns the section record in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters — but not yet any state championships.
