No. 1 Orosi 2, No. 3 Cesar Chavez 0
OROSI -- Top-seeded Orosi scored two goals in three minutes midway through the first half on the way to a Section Division V championship.
Chavez finishes 14-9-1. Orosi is 21-8-1.
It was the first championship game for any Chavez team in the school's 10-year history, according to coach Ommar Solis. "It was hard-fought," Solis said. "They out-hustled us to the ball. They were playing long ball -- kick and chase, kick and chase. That's opposite to our style, which is touch-touch-touch. We couldn't get any rhythm going."
"For us, it was a monster season," Solis said. "From the start we played pretty good teams. Almost every team we played in league and pre-season were in divisions higher than us.
"Just making a run in the playoffs was something our team pulled off. It was a good experience for the boys."
