Mariah Ayala, Golden Valley, senior
Ayala ran away from the field at Hart Park in the county championships with an 18:12, her best time of the season. She also placed second in the Division II section race, to Savannah Berry, and had the best local time at the state championships, a 19:11 that placed her 39th in Division II.
Savannah Berry, Highland, senior
Division II section champion had easily the best local time of the day at the section finals (18:44). She also placed second in the area to Ayala (18:21) and won the Southeast Yosemite League (18:29) as part of a dominant year locally.
Maggie Baker, Bakersfield, sophomore
Ran the best local time at the Woodbridge Invitational with a 17:57. Baker also finished third in the county championships (18:33) and and won the Southwest Yosemite League title (18:47).
Vanessa Cortes, Stockdale, sophomore
The top local finisher in the Division I section race (she was 17th in 19:09), Cortes also placed third in the Southwest Yosemite League final (19:08) and third in the Sophomore Division of the Clovis Invitational.
Caroline Diaz, McFarland, sophmore
Ran one of the county's best times of the season with a 17:46 at the Jim White Invitational, then won the East Sierra League championship, finished fourth in the county (18:39) and had the fourth-best local time at state (19:43).
Emily Enns, Shafter, junior
As a first-year runner, Enns outperformed all expectations, finishing the year as South Sequoia League champion (18:35) and finishing fifth in the Division II section meet (19:27). She also had the fifth-fastest local time at state (19:49).
Morganne Hill, Liberty, junior
Last year's Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a hurdler, Hill is now a two-time cross country first-team selection, too. She finished fifth in the county (18:45), second in the SWYL (19:01) and had the second-best local time at the state meet (19:17).
Molly Pruett, Centennial, senior
Pruett ran the county's best time of the season, a 17:32 to win the Jim White Invitational. She also won all three SWYL mini-meets before multiple injuries cost her time late in the season. Still, Pruett had the third-best local time in the Division I section race (19:29).
