Ridgeview's Cotton-Moya commits to Iowa St.

Ridgeview senior Kamari Cotton-Moya, The Californian's Football Player of the Year, verbally committed Sunday morning to play for Iowa State, Wolf Pack coach Dennis Manning said.
Cotton-Moya, who is listed as an "athlete" by most recruiting websites, could not be reached for comment. The Des Moines Register reported that the Cyclones plan to use the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Cotton-Moya as a defensive back.
"My trip was great," Cotton-Moya told The Register. "It felt like home ... It doesn't matter (where I play). I love playing defensive back."
Last month, Cotton-Moya said he was leaning towards playing for Fresno State, but he never gave the Bulldogs a commitment. He also said he had hoped to play running back in college.
Cotton-Moya played quarterback and defensive back for Ridgeview, racking up 2,258 yards and 27 touchdowns rushing and 1,341 yards and 13 touchdowns passing. He led the Wolf Pack to the first Central Section Division III championship in school history.
He also has scholarship offers from Fresno State, Nevada and Utah State. Verbal commitments are non-binding; Cotton-Moya can sign a binding letter of intent with Iowa State on Feb. 6.
