Ridgeview ripped three straight doubles in a six-run second inning and added a two-run homer in the seventh inning by Eric Ontiveros on the way to a 10-0 South Yosemite League baseball victory over South.

"We just hit the ball through the gaps," Ridgeview coach Jason Hunsaker said. "[South] made a couple bad plays and we got up six really quick."

Ontiveros' homer, over the right field fence, was his first of the season, and only the third for Ridgeview (15-2, 4-0 SYL).

"It was a normal at-bat," he said. "I just tried to hit the ball to put it in play to score Manny [Rodriguez]. It just ended up going over. It felt great."

Ontiveros is the Wolf Pack's leading hitter, with a .414 batting average and 24 hits.

When the Wolf Pack was not scoring runs, its pitching was keeping the Rebels' offense quiet, with three pitchers combining on a two-hitter.

The Rebels (9-5, 1-3) only managed to record two hits during the game, one in the second inning and one in the third.

"Jared [Handel, the starter] did good. He was a little off today," Hunsaker said. "Normally he throws a lot more strikes. He and Alex [Villalobos] are our go-to guys."

Handel went four innings, allowing two hits, and struck out three. Villalobos did not allow a hit in two innings. Luis Martinez pitched a scoreless seventh for the Wolf Pack.

"We've got a good team with good kids," Hunsaker said. "We're playing really good team baseball right now."
