Fifteen star athletes, teams, coaches and contributors will be inducted into the Foothill High School Athletic Hall of Fame Friday night.

Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard, who was a Foothill student body president and a football player, talked about the inaugural class of inductees Monday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

"If you have any interest in Kern County sports, you will love this evening," Maggard said.

There will be a video of each honoree during the event.

"This is an interesting community because your high school still matters to you," Maggard said, adding that when people ask about your school, they're referring to your high school, not college.

The inductees will be honored at 6 p.m. Friday at Bakersfield Country Club. Cost is $125 per ticket or $800 for a table of eight.
