Three players rushed for 128 yards or more and scored two touchdowns each to lead Wasco to a 63-13 victory over Chowchilla on Friday in the semifinals of the Central Section Division IV football playoffs.
Casper Lopez gained 156 yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns, Isaiah Sharp had 131 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns and Austin Kent added 128 yards on eight carries and two scores.
Wasco opened a 28-0 lead in the first half.
The Tigers' first score, a Sharp 7-yard run, came three plays after Wasco recovered an onside kick at the Redskins 39 on the opening kickoff.
But the Redskins fought back with a couple of second-quarter touchdowns. From a punt formation on fourth-and-long, Redskins quarterback Devaughn Gaines threw a 38 yard pass to Fernando Martinez, which set up a 23-yard touchdown reception by Brendon Arendse.
A Gaines 5-yard touchdown run cut Wasco's lead to 28-13 at halftime.
But back-to-back Kent touchdowns in the third quarter and back-to-back Lopez touchdowns in the fourth broke it open.
Wasco's defense held the Redskins to only 116 rushing yards, and 63 passing yards.
Gaines was injured in the second quarter and never returned.
