Liberty scored four touchdowns in the third quarter, and the Patriot defense stood its ground Friday in a 34-0 non-league victory over Tehachapi.

Junior running back Anthony Mariscal ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Josh Medina completed 11 of 13 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown to lead Liberty (3-0).

The Patriot defense held the Warriors to 159 yards of offense and forced them to turn it over on downs twice.

Tehachapi dropped to 1-2 on the season.

West 33, North 20

Stanley Dubard carried 16 times for 149 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a non-league victory.

Dubard was a factor from the get-go, scoring the first two touchdowns (the first was from 29 yards out and the second was from 26 yards) for the Vikings (2-1).

The Stars answered with a 25-yard rushing touchdown by running back Davis Reyes, but the Vikings retaliated on their next drive as Boyd scored on a pitch from 11 yards.

After a three-and-out for North, the Vikings scored on a 4-yard rushing touchdown for Dubard and led 27-7 at halftime.

The Vikings scored on their third play from scrimmage in the second half when Dubard ran it in from 43 yards.

North tried to rally in the fourth with help from Steven Twiss, who had 140 passing yards, 87 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Stars scored two touchdowns in the final quarter, including one by Twiss, but couldn't stop Vikings offense from running out the clock.

Independence 41,Lancaster-Eastside 35

Chris Ellis and D.J. Reed provided offensive punch for the Falcons, who rallied from a 13-point deficit for a non-league victory.

Ellis had a 75-yard kickoff return and a 49-yard run for TDs in the opening quarter to cut Eastside's lead to 14-13. He also added a 6-yard TD run in the final quarter.

Reed scored on a 53-yard run in the second quarter, and also returned a blocked field goal attempt 95 yards for a TD in the second quarter to help IHS take a 34-28 halftime lead.

Falcons quarterback Jordan Wiley passed for 96 yards and a TD, and rushed for 69 yards and a TD.

Eastside's Angel Morgan rushed for 183 yards on 16 carries.

Ridgeview 33, Foothill 0

Lawrence White connected with Daylen Warren on a 39-yard touchdown in the first quarter for Ridgeview (2-1) as the Wolf Pack (2-1) rolled past Foothill (0-2).

White also had touchdown runs of one and five yards. Running back Jacob Lopez carried the ball 14 times for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Ridgeview.

Golden Valley 21, Highland 0

Junior running back Andrew Dean gained 131 of his team's 241 rushing yards and also scored a touchdown as the Bulldogs earned a non-league victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, Golden Valley scored 14 points in a five-minute span and led 14-0 at halftime.

The Bulldogs held the Scots to just 80 first-half yards and Highland was unable to complete a pass until there were only 3 minutes left.

Even a switch by Highland to quarterback Breaker Brannan at the start of the second half was unable to kick-start the Scots.

The Bulldogs' defense limited Brannan to two completions totaling 33 yards.

South 43, Arvin 23

Irving Holmes ran for a pair of touchdowns and Keith Evans caught a 45-yard TD pass from Eddie Perez and tossed a 26-yard TD pass to Tommy Castellon to lead the visiting Rebels.

Stockdale 55, Inglewood 12

The Mustangs galloped to a victory on the backs of three work horses.

Xavier Chisholm, Anthony Wood, and Adarius Rowell all ran for at least 100 yards as the Mustangs improved to 1-1.

Chisholm led the group with 188 rushing yards and two touchdown runs, including a first-half 68 yarder.

Rowell had 13 carries for 148 yards and two TDs, and Wood 12 carries for 122 yards and two TDs.

Tougher competition looms for the Mustangs as they hit the road next week to play Clovis.

East 32, Mira Monte 12

Blake Sherman threw for a touchdown and ran for two others for the Blades. Josh Carillo had 104 yards rushing on 16 carries.
