  1. LATE KCRP: Mayhew cruises to Pro Late Model victory

    David Mayhew led all 40 laps to win the Pro Late Model race on Saturday night at Kern County Raceway Park, but the race was not without drama and upset drivers.

    Dallas Montes challenged Mayhew for most of the race and made contact with him as the two entered Turn 1 on lap 33. Montes spun, but avoided hitting the wall while Mayhew got turned sideways in Turn 2 before getting his car straightened out.

    Mayhew took the lead on the subsequent restart, and Montes, who quickly passed a couple of cars, ended went hard into the infield wall on the backstretch when he tried to make a move to the inside heading toward turn 3.
