    For 50 laps, Jeremy Doss and Jonathon Gomez battled back and forth, swapping the lead five times as the laps wound down on Saturday night in the DC's RV Center 100 art Kern County Raceway Park.

    But with the lead and 15 laps to go, Doss was more worried than anytime during the race. That's because 2012 Spear Southwest Tour Series champion and all-time series leader in wins, Derek Thorn of Bakersfield, was right next to him on a restart. And sitting right behind him was 2012 Kern County Raceway Park Late Model champ David Mayhew of Bakersfield.
