Melissa Phillips has resigned as head coach of Cal State Bakersfield's women's soccer program after three years as coach and five at the school.

She had a career record of 13-39-4, including a six-win season in 2012, the most for the Roadrunners' program at the Division I level.

The Roadrunners finished 4-14-1, 3-8-1 in conference play, last season and missed the WAC tournament.

Phillips was the youngest coach in NCAA soccer when she was hired at 23 in 2010 after two years as an assistant with the Roadrunners.

"I would like to thank the University and the Athletics Department for the opportunity to lead the women's soccer program for the last three years," Phillips said in a news release. "I wish the program the best of luck moving forward."
