    When your swimming team returns the WAC's Male Athlete of the Year and an Olympic Trials qualifier, you're off to a good start.

    Mitchell Huxhold is back for his senior year and looks to repeat as the WAC male swimmer of the year. CSUB set 15 team records last season and had four WAC champions.

    The men's and women's swimming teams open their season Saturday at Grand Canyon in Phoenix. Huxhold isn't the only notable returnee for the men, who placed sixth in the WAC as a team and Director of Swimming Chris Hansen is targeting a top-3 finish this year.
