Condors fall to Wranglers in shootout

By The Bakersfield Californian

LAS VEGAS — Two goals from forward Greg Burgdoerfer and three assists from forward Brett Perlini helped the Bakersfield Condors earn a point Friday in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers at Orleans Arena.

After an entertaining, but scoreless overtime, the teams headed to a shootout where Andrew Sarauer’s goal in the second round proved to be the difference as the Condors were unable to convert.

After a scoreless first period, Burgdoerfer, Chris Haltigin and Brett Lyon scored in the second period, helping the Condors to a 3-2 lead. Burgdoerfer’s final goal came 1:48 into the third period.

Las Vegas tied it 4-4 midway through the third period when Sean Wiles tipped a shot under Condors goalie Scott Greenham. A Perlini penalty shot at 18:04 was denied by Wranglers goalie Joe Fallon.
