The Bakersfield Condors scored the first and last goal of the night, but in between, the Stockton Thunder scored four en route to a 4-2 win Thursday night at Rabobank Arena, handing the Condors their seventh straight loss.
With just over five minutes remaining in the opening period, forward David Toews banged in a rebound off a shot from Liam Huculak to make it 1-0.
However, within 60 seconds, Bakersfield took two penalties to provide the Thunder with a 5-on-3 power play. Stockton promptly converted on both to take a 2-1 lead.
In an evenly-matched second period, Stockton scored the only goal when defenseman Teigan Zahn punched in his third goal of the season at 7:51 to make it 3-1.
Stockton added some insurance early in the third, with Phil Mangan's goal just 1:50 in.
Bakersfield pulled back within two at 8:09, with center Levi Nelson netting his team-leading ninth goal of the season. The Condors had a pair of late power plays, but could not convert.
Defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka returned to the lineup for the first time since sustaining an injury in Stockton on Dec. 1 ...Toews scored his first goal since Oct. 13.
