Condors top Bulls for 3rd straight win

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

DALY CITY -- Jacob Lagace scored two goals and Nicholas Tremblay had a goal and two assists to lead the Bakersfield Condors to a perfect weekend with a 4-2 victory Sunday over the San Francisco Bulls at the Cow Palace. The Condors are now 3-0-0 since the National Hockey League lockout ended.

Condors goalie Scott Greenham picked up where he left off Friday, making 14 saves in the scoreless opening period of play.

Bakersfield came out flying in the second period and struck quickly for two goals. Just 58 second into the period, Francis Verreault sprinted down the right-wing and scored to make it 1-0.

Then, 11 seconds later, Lagace poked home a rebound to extend the lead to 2-0.

With the Condors shorthanded three minutes later, Tremblay fired home a shot from the low slot off a feed from Erik Burgdoerfer, 4:34 into the period, and the Condors had a 3-0 advantage.

The Bulls finally scored when Peter Sivak beat Greenham on a breakaway at 7:50, and pulled within one goal when Kris Belan snapped a shot from the slot at 4:38 of the third period to make it 3-2.

But Greenham made 17 third period stops and Lagace added an empty-net goal late to seal the win.
