Condors coach Matt O'Dette made a pair of trades on Monday, dealing leading scorer Levi Nelson and defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka for a total of four players.
Nelson, who had 10 goals and 14 assists for the Condors, was sent to Greenville, S.C. for rookie forward Francis Verreault and rookie defenseman Kyle Haines. Malka, who led all Bakersfield defensemen in scoring with 12 points, was sent to Toledo for second-year forward Max Campbell and rookie defenseman Dale Warkentin.
The Condors (7-23-3) have lost nine straight games.
"We needed to get new players in here and shuffle the deck and these players (Nelson and Malka) had a lot of interest," O'Dette said. "You need to trade good players to get good players. There's nothing for free in this league.
"I think it was a good day for us. We're going into the New Year with some new faces coming in, a lot of new beginnings. We're fired up."
Verreault was fourth on the Road Warriors in scoring at the time of the trade with seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 32 games. Haines had four goals and four assists in 18 games.
Campbell had 11 goals and nine assists for the Walleyes while Warkentin had two assists in seven games.
O'Dette said he was checking on travel arrangements and was not sure how many of the new players could be in the lineup on Wednesday when the Condors host the Idaho Steelheads.
