Readers divided on controversial promotion

The Californian asked readers what they thought of the Bakersfield Condors building a promotion connected to the municipal bankruptcy of Stockton. The promotion sparked outrage from officials and residents in Stockton. Of the 684 respondents, 36 percent said they did not think the Condors "crossed the line" with the promotion. However, 30 percent said the Condors did cross the line of good taste with the promotion. Another 34 percent said "they had never heard of the issue."
The Condors host Stockton on Friday night in a preseason game at Rabobank Arena.
The promottion, now called BOOMTOWN Bakersfield Night, is set for Dec. 26 against Stocton.
