The Visalia Rawhide ripped four home runs Tuesday on the way to a 9-3 California League baseball victory over the Blaze at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Gerson Montilla, Ryan Court, Sean Jamieson and Chris McMurray homered for the Rawhide (36-29).
Jamieson's was a three-run shot, Court's a two-run shot and the other two were solos.
Visalia had 10 hits off the first four of five Bakersfield pitchers.
Starter Robert Coe (1-2) earned the win for Visalia, allowing only one earned run in 5-1/3 innings.
Carlos Contreras (3-6) took the loss for Bakersfield. He allowed four hits, walked two and surrendered two earned runs in four innings.
Chris Berset had three hits for Bakersfield (26-39).
Fresno Pacific adds softball program
Fresno -- Fresno Pacific University has announced the addition of women's softball as its 17th intercollegiate sport, with the program scheduled to begin NCAA Division II and Pacific West Conference competition in the 2014-15 academic year.
A national search for a head coach will begin immediately in order to begin recruiting efforts for the first season.
FPU recently completed its first full NCAA Division II season in all sports and is preparing to enter the final year of its three year transition from the NAIA to the NCAA.
The university expects to have reached full championship-eligible membership status by the time the softball team takes the field in 2014-15.
Judo tournament set for Saturday at Garces
