    Assistant baseball coach Benjamin Thomas makes sure one of his team members, Nathan Allen, has his right elbow up in the correct spot during warm-ups before stepping into the batting cages at the Bakersfield Batting Range Wednesday evening at 4001 Chester Avenue. Their summer hours are Monday through Sunday from 5pm-10pm. The batting range owner is Dan Wells.

    Bakersfield Batting Range helmets (BBR) are issued to all the would be hitters before going into the cage to practice softball or hardball. There are several ball speeds available depending on each hitters level of expertise.
