Gymnastics : American Academy Gymnastics Team Takes Silver in Livermore
American Academy Gymnastics traveled to Northern California to compete in the last qualification competition for State Championships on Saturday March 16th. Although all of the American Team had qualified to StateChampionships, they still had high expectations.
Datiah Towns took 1st place in the all-around with a score of 37.175. She also took the gold on Bars (9.15) and the floor exercise (9.725). Mckenna Davis earned her second 36 of the season and placed 5th in the all-around (36.1). Taylor Bentley took Gold on the Vault (9.5) and 3rd on floor (9.375). She also took fifth in the all-around with a 35.8. Amy Cheng took 5th on Vault (9.15) and the beam (8.85) and placed 10th in the all-around with a 33.25
Level 8 Alexa Schacher took 2nd on the uneven bars (8.9) and the floor exercise (9.2) American Academys Level 9 Kayla Cross took 3rd on the balance beam ( 8.75)
In the following weeks the Optional team will be competing at State Championships and trying to qualify to Regionals.
