Golf
Junior clinic for boys, girls, 9-10:30 a.m., June 4-8 at Kern River Golf Course. Coversfundamentals, basic rules and course etiquette. Bring clubs or clubs can be provided. No registration required. Attend any of the sessions. Clinic is free.
Arvin City Amateur Championship, May 26-27, Sycamore Canyon Golf Course. Entry is $90 and includes a Friday practice round after 1 p.m. Championship/handicapped flights. Call Sycamore Canyon pro shop (661) 854-3163, Registration deadline is 1 p.m. May 25. This tournament is the first of the six Michelob Ultra/Sports Authority Player of the Year Series events.
