Former Mexican national soccer star Cuauhtemoc Blanco is scheduled to be in Bakersfield today to play in a soccer game said to be the first ever at historic Sam Lynn Ball Park.
Blanco's team, Puebla, Mexico-based Lobos BUAP, is set to square off against Bakersfield All-Stars at 7 p.m. Gates open for the start of a youth game at 5 p.m.
Nicknamed "The Hunchback" for his distinctive posture, Blanco, 40, is the second leading all-time scorer for the Mexican national team.
Advance tickets cost $20 each. Children 10 years and under enter free.
