    Norris Middle volleyball team took first place among 30 teams in the Junior Tournament of Champions in Oxnard, on Saturday Oct. 5. Four of the players received all tournament medals. Players: Riley Dougherty, Samantha Mabry, Kennadi Nelson, Maile Mangisi, Madison Lewis, Mikaela Maughan, Vanessa Catallo, Kaitlyn Cooper, Sydney Trowbridge, Penelope Zepeda, McKenzie Miller.

    The 12U Bakersfield WildKatz softball team came back from a 1-2 showing on Saturday in pool play to go undefeated on Sunday and win the championship in The Pretty in Pink Fastpitch Tournament held at the Mesa Marin complex. The team: Alani Amaya, Isabella Galindo, Taylor Hardin, Jezelle LyBurtus, Mya Moreno, Seidy Morua, Serenity Ovando, Rylee Price, Cindy Sanchez.     The Bakersfield Bombers 8U went 4-0 over the weekend at the Central Coast Fall Championship in Santa Maria, beating the BV Bashers from San Jose 5-0 in the championship. The Heat went 4-0, defeating the SoCal Rivals 4-3 for the championship in extra innings.
