    The 8th grade Mamba Girls AAU basketball team went 4-0 and won the championship over the weekend by going 4-0 in the seven-team Battle Of The Best tournament at Lake Forest, in Orange County.     Carson Olivas, 13, of Fruitvale Junior High has been selected to represent Southern California with the Cal South Pro+ 1999 soccer team. Cal South Pro+ combines Southern California elite players in their appropriate age groups and will play against teams from Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and Northern California in Las Vegas, Nevada Jan. 10-13. Carson currently plays down south with DMS 11 Academy and will play in Dallas March 22-31 to play in a prestigious international tournament.

The Amateur Bowlers Tour Tournament is set for Jan. 12 at Regency Lanes. The event offers free membership into ABT, and offers a $1,000 with Mega Bonus. Squad times are at noon, 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. with single-game elimination finals following the 3 p.m. squad. One in six advance to finals. Entry fee is $50 for Gold members; re-entries are $25. Flag football

Inaugural Bakersfield Adult Flag Football League, 8-on-8, accepting team sign ups. Individuals players welcomed and placed. 14-man team maximum roster. Season: Feb. 3-March 24. 12-game season with playoffs, awards. Teams play two games apiece each Sunday. Call Doug (661) 346-6883.

Final Bobby Sox sign-ups 10 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Jan. 19 at Ellis Island Pizza Co., SW corner of Stockdale Highway and Real Road in the Wild West Shopping Center. Cost is $150 for the 8U-18U divisions and $125 for 6U division, plus a $40 refundable snack bar deposit per girl in the 6U division only. Price of sign-ups includes registration, basic picture package, uniform shirt, socks, visor and secondary insurance. Must have child's doctor and insurance information to sign up. First-time players must bring a copy of their birth certificate.
