The Kern County Athletic All-stars sent 16 athletes to the AAU Junior Olympics track and field meet in Houston and earned four medals. Joshua Ryan placed third in the Young Men’s 3,000 meter race walk, Pedro Cruz (14) placed fifth in the 3,000 meters, Moises Medrano (12) placed seventh in the 1500, and the boys 12-year-old 4x800 relay team (pictured, l-r) of Jose Colotl, Adam Teasdale, Trenton Ferguson, Medrano and alternate Tony Hernandez was seventh. The KCAA team had 14 top-25 finishes in the meet. The team’s results:
