Hockey : Bakersfield Dragons Mites Carve Out a Top Spot in Thanksgiving Tournament
The Bakersfield Dragons Mites took second place in the Turkey Carver Classic Hockey Tournament in Simi Valley over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The Mites won three games and lost in overtime in the championship.
The Dragons beat the Bay Harbor Red Wings 7-2, the Simi Valley GumAces 15-0, and the Iceoplex Mitey Turkeys 8-1 to earn the spot in the final game.
The Mites team is made up of 10 players, ages 8 and under. They are Shannon Cline, Zachary Freedman, Adrian Gomez, Hudson Hofstrand, Mark Hutchinson, Kyle Jones, Landon McCoy, Gavin Mears, Luke Perri, and Dalton Thomas.
The Bakersfield Dragons Mites play home games at the San Joaquin Community Hospital Ice Center.
