Basketball

Free clinic hosted by former Foothill High, CSU Bakersfield and Harlem Globetrotter Reggie Phillips, 10 a.m. Jan. 14, at the Bakersfield Police Activities League Center, 301 E. 4th St. The clinic will be co-ed for children grades 3-8. For more information, call (661) 283-8880.

Baseball

The Bakersfield Bombers 8U baseball team, won the Championship at the 2-day USSSA Christmas Classic in Fountain Valley on Sunday. The Bombers went 3-1 in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 28-5. The team: Kaleb Hay, Brayden Wilkerson, Cutter Coffey, Jordan Lopez, Macie Millard, Jesse Villalobos. Bottom: Joseph Alatorre, Derek Garza, Trevor Spainhoward, Spencer Jenkins, Alejandro Garza and Evan Cloyd.

The Bakersfield Renegades 11U finished second out of 12 teams at the USSSA "Strike Out Hunger" event at Big League Dreams in West Covina. The team: Andrew Valles, Reilley Combs, Benji Caggianelli, Michael Bray, Roman Angelo, Anthony Cuellar. bottom: Garritt Palomo, Louie Salas, Noah James, Gabe Cruz and Andrew Wilkins.

The Predators 12U soccer team, coached by Derek Winders, finished third at the AYSO Area A tournament at the Kern County Soccer Park, Dec. 11-12. The team: Jack Zander, Tyler McEwen, Alan Sanchez, Julian Banuelos, Matthew Spendlove, Evan McGuire, Tomas Prieto, Spencer Stockton, Paxton Winders, Xander Tungate, Aidan Meyer.
