National Junior Basketball Winter League Registration is open. Early registration is $160 until Sept. 15; $180 after. League practices start Nov. 3 and games begin Dec. 2. NJB's season runs November-February for third-eighth grade, boys and girls. Online registration is available at bakersfieldnjb.d4sportsreg.com. Early walk-up Registration is Sunday (Sept. 9) from 1-4 p.m. at Harbor Freight Tools, 3745 Rosedale Hwy. Evaluations and registration is September 23 from 1-4 p.m. or Oct. 7 from 1-4 p.m. at Standard Middle School. The Bakersfield Assault went 5-0 in this weekend's Labor Day Diamond Classic in Raisin City. The Assault beat the Central California Grizzlies 10-4 in the championship game.
The Bakersfield Heat 10U won the USSSA Santa Maria Labor Day Classic this past weekend. The team went 5-0 in the tournament.
