Golf

The West High Alumni Fundraiser Golf Tournament will be April 26 at The Links at RiverLakes Ranch. Proceeds will benefit the school's baseball and golf teams. Contact Craig at (661) 333-2990 to get a flier.

Footwork Elite Basketball 2nd Annual "Hoop Dreams" Golf Tournament fundraiser will be May 3 at Buena Vista Golf Course. Registration is at 11 a.m.; Shotgun start at noon. Four-person scramble, green fees, cart, catered lunch, closest-to-the-pin contest, longest-drive contest all included with tournament fee. Single player: $90; 4-person team: $320; Tee sponsor: $50; Corporate sponsor: $500; Platimum sponsor: $1,000 (includes 4-man team). All proceeds benefit FW Elite AAU basketball program featuring several of the top players in Kern County. Shooting

Tehachapi Mountain Search and Rescue's 6th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot is set for 9 a.m. April 26 at the Kern County Gun Club, 12450 Shotgun Road, in Bakersfield. Cost: $80 for individuals, $320 for teams. Men, women, youth shooters. Each entry will include lunch, soda and two raffle tickets, one for a firearm and one raffle ticket for other items (to be announced at the lunch). Wrestling

All-American camp at Bakersfield College, noon-2 p.m., 5-7 p.m. June 23-26. Former NCAA All-Americans Nathan Morgan (from Bakersfield High, Oklahoma State) and Joe Gonzales (CSUB) will be among instructors with BC coach and camp director Bill Kalivas and BC wrestlers. Accomplishments

Baseball

Triple Play's 7U baseball team won the USSSA Spring Break Showcase Championship. The coaches: Miguel Montano, Chuck Templeton, Chris De La Cruz, Jacob Freeman. The players: Miguel Montano, Jacob Beagley, Tryce Spainhoward, Jack Parks, Landon McDonald, Brady Durkan, Logan Templeton, Chance Gerecke, Bryndon Freeman, Drew Minnear, Jadyn Hernandez, Jackson De La Cruz, Kadyn Kirkly.

Gymnastics

The American Kids Sports Center's Boy's Gymnastics team finished its season with a strong showing at the Regional Championships in Phoenix, April 10-13. The meet featured over 800 athletes from California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. In the Level 8 (13-14 year old) division, Collin Maberry won the parallel bars and finished eighth in the all-around. Spenser Prow placed third on floor and fifth on high bar. Maberry, Prow and Tyler Weiner were all members of the Southern California All-Star team that came in third place. Diego Lopez placed sixth all-around in the Level 6 (11-year-old) division. He placed in the top 10 on five of the six events. A member of the Southern California All-Star team, he helped them earn a second-place finish. Aidan Myers (Level 6: 9-year-olds) placed 10th all-around, including a third-place finish on the pommel horse. In the Level 5 (12- 18-year-old) division Nicholas Garcia placed fourth on floor and third on rings. Tommy Worman placed fourth on vault. The Team is coached by Tom Ladman, Matt Williams, Sean Farrell and Hayden DaMant.
