Area's best set for Valley All-Star basketball game

Several of the top high school basketball players in Kern County will showcase their skills in the Valley High School All-Star game Saturday at Stockdale High.

Boys and girls all-star teams from Kern County will play against all-star teams from players from the Antelope Valley.

A junior high boys all-star game will open the event at 3:30 p.m., followed by the girls high school game at 5 and the boys high school game at 7.

Cost for the event is $10 for adults, $5 for students with children under 10 free.

All proceeds from the event will benefit a two-week Christian mission trip to the Philippines in June.

The Kern County roster for the boys high school game: Bray Barnes (Liberty), Christian Bayne (Stockdale), Richard Bevins (Ridgeview), Derek Check (Centennial), Isaac Clark (Independence), Derrius Duff (Highland), Fatai Eke (East), Kyle Ferreira (Liberty), Braxton Huggins (Mira Monte), Rashad Jackson (Garces), D.J. Reed (Independence) and B.J. Shelton (Bakersfield).

The girls roster includes: Ashley Brown (Ridgeview), Kendyl Estes (Stockdale), Brittany Fowler (Stockdale), Vanessa Franciso (Independence), Darby Garris (Centennial), Riley Helgren (Liberty), Paxton Lozano (Liberty), Cheyanne Miller (Frontier), Tina Rodriguez (Golden Valley), Jackie Tafoya (Ridgeview), Sha'Nya Terry (South) and Janeyle Thomas (South).

The junior high all-star team features: Daniel Anthony (Curran), R.J. Banks (Warren), Isaiah Cruse (Valley Oaks), Kobe Felix (Curran), Harold Hartdige (Stonecreek), Tony Hernandez (Ollivier), Alex Honea (Rosedale), Aubrey Jones (Tevis), Jalem Kellams (Rosedale), Christopher Lucas (Stockdale Christian), Dante Mason (McKee), Alejandro Murillo (Tevis), Caden Ochoa (Rio Bravo-Greeley), Dylan Pearson (Chipman), Jalen Smith (Warren) and Ronnie Stapp (Tevis).
