  1. ROBERT GAUTNEY: Kilmer ties for 24th at SCGA Mid-Amateur Championships

    Bakersfield had one chance for a top finish in the SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship at Valencia CC this week, and while Ron Kilmer didn’t earn a silver plate (top-5), he didn’t disappoint either.

    Kilmer finished a respectable T-24 with rounds of 75-80-72 as the Valencia track was playing extremely tough. So tough, in fact, that Kilmer’s final round of even-par 72 was tied for the second best round on the final day!

    Ryan Dwight of Costa Mesa was the only player to break par in the final round with a 71 and that allowed him to vault into a 4-way tie for third at 5-over 221.
