Patel sixth at Web.com tournament

BOGOTA, Colombia -- Bhavik Patel fired an even-par 71 on Sunday to finish in sixth place (10-under) at the Colombia Championship at Country Club de Bogota.
Web.com Tour rookie Patrick Cantlay fired a 5-under 66 and pulled away from fellow third-round co-leader Jim Renner to win by four strokes at 18-under.
Patel, a Bakersfield High graduate, shot 68, 66 and 69 in the first three rounds and was in fourth place entering the final round. He shot 3-over on the front nine Sunday, including a double-bogey 6 on the par-4 fourth hole, before recovering to shoot 3-under on the back.
Patel, who played college golf at Fresno State and is a rookie on the Web.com Tour, missed the cut at last week's Panama Claro Championship.
CSUB softball team drops two games
FULLERTON -- The Cal State Bakersfield softball team fell 5-0 to Northwestern and 8-0 to No. 24-ranked Oregon State to conclude play at the Easton Invitational. The Roadrunners (1-12) finished the tournament 0-4.
Northwestern was propelled by a three-run sixth inning. Freshman outfielder-pitcher Sydney Raeber collected two hits for the Roadrunners. Sophomore pitcher Kelsie Monroe took the loss, allowing five runs on 13 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Monroe (1-8) also got the start against Oregon State (17-4). The Beavers scored two runs in the first inning, added four in the fourth and ended the game early with two more in the fifth.
CSUB next plays Saturday with a doubleheader at Cal State Northridge.
Jam topples D-Fenders
Bakersfield's entire starting lineup scored in double-figures, led by Mike Scott's 27 points, as the Jam beat the D-Fenders 111-98 at the Dignity Health Event Center.
Scott added 10 rebounds and Jerel McNeal had 27 points, eight assists and five steals. Damion James pitched in 17 points and 13 rebounds, Renaldo Major finished with 14 points and Adam Koch totaled 11 points, rounding out the Jam in double-digits. The D-Fenders (15-20) fell behind 31-22 after the first quarter and trailed 57-43 at the half, allowing the Jam (24-11) to shoot 51.2 percent from the floor. Morris Almond scored a team-high 24 points for Los Angeles.
