Local report: Aces put the clamps on Condors' offense

Alex Hudson scored back-to-back goals in the first period to lead the Alaska Aces to a 4-1 victory Thursday over the Bakersfield Condors in an ECHL hockey game at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.
Hudson's goal highlighted a four-goal first-period for the Western Conference Mountain Division's first-place Aces (41-12-2-4).
The Condors (18-37-2-3) were scoreless until Peter Boyd's goal with 13:16 left.
The series resumes with games on Saturday and Sunday.
JC baseball
FRESNO -- Fresno City College pitcher Dom Topoozian tossed a four-hitter with 14 strikeouts to outduel Taft's Allan Sanchez in a 3-1 Rams' win in a Central Valley Conference game.
Fresno (8-6, 3-2 CVC) broke a 1-1 tie with a two-out, two-run single by Jack Karraker in the sixth.
For Taft (4-10-1, 1-4 CVC) in the second, Josh Roelof's singled, stole second, took third on a wild pitch and scored on the play when the catcher threw the ball into left field.
Sanchez pitched a seven-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks.
Golf
Bakersfield golfer Bhavik Patel shot a 3-under-par 68 and was in a 12-way tie for 15th place after the first round of the Web.com Tour's Colombia Championship at the Copuntry Club de Bogota.
Danny Lee led with a first-round 64 on the7,237-yard course. This is the second event of the tour.
Women's swimming
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Two more Cal State Bakersfield women's swimming school records were broken on day two of the WAC Championships.
The seventh-place 200 free relay of Ali Gillespie, Lauren Kaufman, Louise Westergren and Christy Vo went 1:34.41 to break the 2010 school record of 1:34.44.
Jodi Hansonwon the "C" final of the 200 IM in a school record time of 2:04.42.
The old mark was set (2:05.24) in 1998 by Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen. Delise Batiza went 4:58.55 in the C final of the 500 free, the fourth fastest mark in school history.
CSUB is in eighth (89) in the team race. Northern Arizona (293) leads the team competition
