Local report: Renegades men's basketball team rallies past Valley

VAN NUYS -- R'mand Harp had a season-high 26 points to lead Bakersfield College to a come-from-behind. 66-59 men's basketball victory at L.A. Valley on Saturday afternoon.
BC (9-10 overall, 3-2 Western State Conference South) also had seven rebounds from Chad Clark and Damian Robinson. BC trailed 21-18 at halftime and stayed in control down the stretch by sinking 6-of-8 free throws in the final minute.
Alex Smith had 25 points and 14 rebounds for Valley (4-13, 1-4 WSC).
CSUB women swimmers collect two victories
LOS ANGELES -- Cal State Bakersfield posted two wins at a tri-dual meet at Loyola Marymount, downing the host Lions 151-137 and beating Cal Baptist 195-103.
CSUB is 7-6.
Jordan Reed had wins in both of the diving events, winning the 1-meter board with a 195.654 and the 3-meter with a 188.90.
Delise Batiza won the 1,000 free (10 minutes, 38.87 seconds) and 200 butterfly (2:10.52). Michaela Paige won the 500 free (5:09.30) and was on the winning 400-free relay (3:31.16) with Ali Gillespie, Christy Vo and Kelsey Lange. Nicolette Gonzalves won the 100 fly (58.91) and Gillespie was second in the 200 free.
The CSUB men beat Cal Baptist 186-108. CSUB placed first in 11 of 16 events.
JC track and field
LANCASTER -- Bakersfield College saw several members of its men's and women's teams win events at Antelope Valley College.
For the men, Walter Hunt won the 100 meters (11.35 seconds); Michael Norwood won the 200 (22.65); Davis Loustalot won the 1,500 (4:14.01); and Devan Wemhoff won the high jump (6 foot, 3 inches).
The women also saw strong performances from Jade Gridiron, who won the 200 (26.85); Tejera Dial finished second in the 400 (61.50) and 800 (2:31.42). The women also won the 4x400 relay in 4:12.09.
CSUB water polo team splits at Santa Barbara
Cal State Bakersfield's women's water polo team went 1-1 on day one of the UC Santa Barbara Invitational. The Roadrunners dropped an 11-8 decision to No. 6 UC Irvine and defeated Concordia-Irvine 11-10 in the nightcap.
