MONTEREY PARK -- Mitchell Huxhold posted his fourth Cal State Bakersfield record Saturday, the final day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Huxhold placed second in the 1,650 by lowering his own school record with a time of 15 minutes, 8.61 seconds. Huxhold also set school records in the 200 and 500 at the meet, and posted NCAA B cut times in the 200, 500 and 1,650 events during MPSF Championships. His 1,000 time (9:02.44) is also a school record.
"This was a great swim for Mitchell and could get him an invite to the NCAA championships," said CSUB director of swimming Chris Hansen in a press release. "We will know in two weeks if he gets to go to Indianapolis. Mitchell's meet was nothing but spectacular."
The 400 free relay of Fran Cverle, Alex Daneke, Mitch Wurm and Gabriel Bertrand had the second-fastest time in school history (2:58.98) to finish fourth. CSUB finished seventh (310.5 points) in the 10-team field. UNLV (613) won the team title.
