PALO ALTO -- Cal State Northridge scored at least one run in each of its five innings and downed Cal State Bakersfield 8-0 in the final game of the Stanford Invitational softball tournament.

The game was called after five innings because of the mercy rule.

The Roadrunners (1-7) were held to one hit, a single by Shay Fryer, who singled with one out in the fifth for CSUB's first baserunner. Amy Ricciardi reached on an error and Amber Mills was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but pinch hitter Kara Frankhouser flied out and Sydney Raeber struck out to end the game.

Northridge (4-8) had eight hits off two CSUB pitchers, including a second-inning grand slam by Korinne Randazzo. Shelly Tait tossed the complete-game one-hitter.
