Roadrunners, Aggies play to 0-0 draw

DAVIS -- Goalie Eric Shannon recorded his 15th career shutout as the CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team played UC Davis to a 0-0 double overtime tie Sunday.

Shannon, who finished with five saves, is now in sole possession of third place in school history in career shutouts.

His final save came off an Alex Henry header in the 99th minute. The Roadrunners (2-0-1) outshot UC Davis (2-1-2) 23-11 and held a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks. The match was a physical one as the teams combined for 36 fouls and seven yellow cards.

Gyasi Zardes reset the CSUB Division I record for most shots in a match with nine. UCD goalie Omar Zeenni had seven saves for the Aggies.

CSUB will host Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m. Thursday and Saint Mary's at 5 p.m. Sunday.
