Just before the Bakersfield College season began on Sept. 1, head coach Jeff Chudy downplayed reports that a dominant wide receiver had just joined the Renegades.

It turns out that receiver was Marquise Johnson, and he has been every bit as dominant as the initial reports indicated.

He has a team-high 11 touchdowns -- 10 as a receiver and one on a punt return -- as the Renegades (10-2) prepare for their final game of the season, the state community college championship game against City College of San Francisco (10-1) on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

"It's a wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to it," Johnson said of the title game. "The main thing is to get the win."

Johnson didn't even join the Renegades until the week prior to the season opener, which left him far behind his team
