Araujo's eight kills can't lift 'Runners

LOS ANGELES -- Outside hitter Debora Araujo led Cal State Bakersfield volleyball with eight kills and five blocks as the Roadrunners fell 25-14, 25-20, 25-16 to host Loyola Marymount on Saturday night.
Middle hitter Molly O'Hagan and Kelsee Sawyer each had six kills.
The Roadrunners (7-9) return home to next face Boise State on Saturday (7 p.m.) and Bucknell on Oct. 7 (5 p.m.).
JC wrestling
Bakersfield College went 2-2 on the day at the Renegade Duals at Gil Bishop Gymnasium. The Renegades started the day by defeating East Los Angeles (32-22) then fell to Mt. San Antonio (32-9) and Cuesta (24-21) before defeating Santa Ana (27-18). Bakersfield will travel to the Santa Ana Invitational on Saturday.

Wasco's defense held visiting Chavez to nine yards rushing and 17 yards passing through three quarters Friday night, en route to a 57-6 victory.
Defensive linemen Nick Sanchez and Garrett Johnson helped stop the run while linebackers Jose Robledo, Chris Aguilar and Kyle Wedel pressured the Chavez quarterback. Isaiah Sharp led the Tigers offense with five carries for 78 yards and three touchdowns, all in the second quarter.
