By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

NORTHRIDGE -- Cal State Bakersfield's Bataba Zampare's layup with one second left in regulation forced overtime, and her steal with three seconds left in the extra period secured the Roadrunners' 74-73 win over Cal State Northridge Thursday night.

It was the final non-conference game of the season for CSUB (6-6), which travels to Utah Valley Saturday for the program's first-ever Western Athletic Conference game.

Melissa Sweat's layup with 1:02 remaining in OT gave CSUB the 74-73 lead. Northridge (4-10) had a missed shot and the turnover in the final 42 seconds that helped CSUB hold on.

Sweat, a Stockdale High graduate, scored her CSUB career-high 23 points. Tyonna Outland added 22 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Sweat (six points) and Outland (three points) had all of the Roadrunners' points in overtime.

CSUB trailed 48-38 with 12:15 left in regulation before scoing nine straight points. It was close the rest of the way.

Bakersfield's biggest lead was 57-54 with 4:39 left in regulation.
