Local report: Herman powers CSUB women past Northern Arizona

Kristine Herman had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to lead CSU Bakersfield to an 86-77 women's basketball win over Northern Arizona Sunday afternoon in the Icardo Center.
The Roadrunners (6-21) also had 19 points from Lauren Carter, 14 by Brooklyn Hinkens, 11 by Ciarra Ford and 10 by Amber Williams.
The Roadrunners set a CSUB Division I record for most made free throws and most free throws attempted when they went 32-of-40. CSUB sank 21-of-25 in the second half. Northern Arizona (8-19) had 32 fouls.
CSUB has two games remaining this season, both against Seattle. On March 3 the Roadrunners play in Seattle; on March 10, the Redhawks close the regular season in the Icardo Center.
NBA D-League
PORTLAND, Maine -- Reserve Osiris Eldridge scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Bakersfield Jam to a 118-109 victory over the Maine Red Claws at the Portland Expo Building.
The Jam (17-14) scored a season-high 68 points off the bench and extended its winning streak to four games.
Bakersfield scored 40 points in the fourth quarter behind Eldridge's 13-point quarter performance. He finished the night 11-of-18 from the field, including 4-of-6 3-pointers.
Jeremy Wise scored 19 points, dished out six assists and grabbed seven rebounds, while Renaldo Major had 17 points and eight rebounds, Juan Pattillo contributed 16 points and eight rebounds, and Adrian Thomas scored 14 points, connecting on 4-of-6 from 3-point land.
BC baseball
Blayne Ontiveros went 2-for-4, including the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh to lift Bakersfield College to a 4-3 non-conference victory over Moorpark at Gerry Collis Field.
BC (8-2) led 3-0 after six innings, but the Raiders (3-6) rallied to tie the score, setting up Ontiveros' heroics.
Elijah Trail, who had two RBI, started the rally with a triple over the right fielder's head and Ontiveros followed with a basehit to right to give the Renegades the lead for good.
Justin Kelly (1-0) earned the win with 12â3 innings of scoreless relief, and Ryan Stapp pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.
Benito Machado went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for Bakersfield, which travels to Moorpark for a 2 p.m. game Thursday.
