CSUB's Huxhold sets meet swim record

MONTEREY PARK -- Mitchell Huxhold won the 1,650-yard freestyle in a meet record 15 minutes, nine minutes and .07 seconds to highlight CSU Bakersfield's final day at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships at East Los Angeles College.
Gabriel Bertrand finished fourth in the event in 15:33.94.
The Roadrunners men's team also finished in the top five in three other events.
Alex Daneke tied for fourth in the 200 backstroke in 1:48.01 and Chris Pipes was fifth in the 100 free in 44.92.
Daneke and Pipes teamed with Mitchell Wurm and Mark Silvius to finish fifth in the 400 free relay in 2:59.77.
Rachel McCall led the women's team with a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 50.32.
