CSUB volleyball falls in four to UC Davis

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

DAVIS -- Molly O'Hagan tied a career high in kills with 19 and Debora Araujo added 13, but Cal State Bakersfield fell in four sets to UC Davis, 25-27, 25-23, 26-24, 25-18.

The Roadrunners (7-6) were led in kills by sophomore Kelsee Sawyer with 22 for the match. She also finished with 14 digs for the match.

Mariah Alvidrez, a redshirt junior from Liberty, finished with a career-high 28 digs.

The Roadrunners open Western Athletic Conference play Thursday at Seattle, part of a three-match road trip that will take them to Idaho and New Mexico State.

The Roadrunners women's soccer team opened conference play this weekend with a pair of shutout losses to Utah Valley.

CSUB (1-8) lost 2-0 to the Wolverines in Orem, Utah, on Friday. Erica Shelton had three shots on goal and Megan Vina made nine saves in that match.

On Sunday, Vina made five saves in a busy second half, but the Roadrunners had just five shots on goal as a team.

CSUB will look to snap its eight-match losing streak on Friday against Grand Canyon in Phoenix.
