Roadrunners rally past Fresno State in softball, 5-4

By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN

Shay Fryer's RBI single to center field with none out in the bottom of the seventh capped a two-run rally that gave Cal State Bakersfield its first-ever softball win over Fresno State, 5-4 at the CSUB Softball Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Fresno State (22-18) took a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh on a two-run homer by Michelle Solomon.

But in the bottom of the seventh, Karissa Veiga led off with a single and Laura King tied it with an RBI triple to right. Fryer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, followed with her game-winning single.

CSUB (11-23) had a big game from King, who was 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Stesha Brazil also homered for FSU.

It was the first Roadrunner win over the Bulldogs in five meetings.
