LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Zack Foxhoven's goal with 5:42 remaining capped a rally that lifted No. 16 Louisville to a 4-2 victory over Cal State Bakersfield in a non-conference men's soccer match Sunday afternoon.
CSUB's Eduardo Caldaza got things started with an early goal and David Velasquez added another to give the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead.
But Louisville scored to quick goals to start the second half, setting the stage for Foxhaven's go-ahead goal.
"Hugely disappointing to take a 2-0 halftime lead and throw it away," said CSUB coach Simon Tobin in a press release. "Louisville is an excellent team, but our second-half performance was very poor and we allowed a season making performance to slip away."
Women lose to Riverside
Alexa Bustamante scored two goals, one in each half, to lead UC Riverside to a 2-0 non-conference victory over the Roadrunners at the CSUB Main Soccer Field.
Caroline Muoio had took a team-high five shots for the 'Runners, including four on goal, but the Highlanders' Elizabeth Silas made six saves en route to the shutout.
Bustamante opened the scoring with header off a pass from Amber Marani at the 13:12 mark. Bustamante headed in another pass from Marani just under 10 minutes into the second half.
