MOORPARK -- Bakersfield College had a methodical, workman-like effort Saturday night at Moorpark College, and that was good enough for an easy victory.
The Renegades didn't allow a point until late in the fourth quarter and cruised to a 31-3 win over the Raiders, giving BC it's third straight win.
Quarterback Brian Burrell had a 1-yard touchdown run to open the scoring and passed for two other touchdowns to lead the offense. And the BC defense was even more dominant.
It was the first game in two weeks for the Renegades (5-2 overall, 2-1 National Northern Conference), who used last week's bye to focus on improving the kicking game, coach Jeff Chudy said.
That paid dividends. BC had huge yardage on numerous kicks.
Chaz Adams had an apparent 57-yard punt return for a score midway through the first quarter. However, it was called back because of a block in the back behind the play.
